for my exemplar i chose a lesson plan from the website http://www.schools.utah.gov/ate/tlc/sta ... tml#facsit. The lesson was about teaching how to use computer programs and familiarizing the students with computers. I planned on using this lesson in my class to supplement a later assignment. My assignment is to have the students use a computer aided pattern design program to design their own pattern that they can make.

That's a really fun idea to teach students how to use the computer to create their own designs. what a great way to introduce them to the world of design and get them thinking about careers.

This is such a fun way to present design! I like the creativity of your idea and the creativity that you are encouraging in your students.

This is a good way to involve the students and use technology! I really think this is neat because not very many people know much about patterns let alone being able to make your own. The student is definitely the focus in this technology integration lesson. Using this program is essential to the students being able to make their own pattern and so it is essential to the learning activity. Although they will be learning about how to use this web site the lesson is focused on how to create a pattern more than the actual technology itself. This would be more difficult without the computer because you would have to make up a sample pattern of which you have already created yourself and then provide materials and instructions on the basics of pattern making before they would be able to handle any concrete items. This is an awesome idea-I might steal it from you to use in my future classrooms.
